My Atelier

Is that spelled correctly?

Anyway, this is a picture of the apartment I have been writing in, and I will move into soon.
Its really nice because it is right next door to the Fukudas so I can help them if they need anything, but I get a bit more space to myself, as well as to my calligraphy.
I am standing on a ladder that goes up to a little loft (about 3 feet tall) which is just enough to lay a futon down and sleep.

Now I can to do big things!

Writing for a Museum.

Today, I worked on my ideas for the exhibition this summer at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Update.

So, I took about a week off from calligraphy for a little trip, trying to rest my arm, because my teacher is always telling me that my calligraphy is tired and lacks vitality.
The only writing I did was with a stick and sand on the beach.
I will upload pictures when I figure out how to work a negative scanner.

I had calligraphy today with this one teacher who is wants me to send in a piece to this exhibition at the end of summer.
So, I wrote on big pieces of paper today, which was fun, much different from what I am used to, but, not pretty.
The piece doesn't have to be pretty.

So, couldn't anybody just write any old crap and send it in?

No, because I am sending it in to the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art.

What is pretty, and does it have anything to do with good?

If Murakami can do it, so can I.

Bringing calligraphy to the rich people.

I am going to a party with Soryu Sensei tonight in Ginza.

PS. This was written while listening to Fergie's Glamorous.

Ug.

The inability to concentrate leads to lack of productivity and/or dirty hands and clothes.

Strawberry

I should really learn to turn pictures.
